Launch the Settings window from the Toolbar.
Axis orientation: Specifies the coordinate system for the transformation tools.
- World: Transforms selected objects about world space X, Y, and Z axes. In this mode, manipulator handles never change.
- Local: Transforms selected objects in the object-space coordinate system. In this mode, manipulators are rotated with the object.
Pivot point: Determines the position around which objects are rotated or scaled. If you want to rotate an object around a specific location, you need to adjust the object’s pivot position.
- Center moves the pivot point to the bounding-box center of the selected object.
- Edit lets you set the pivot point manually. It is compatible with snapping tools.
Check out our how-to article on changing the pivot point of models.
Transformation: Freezes the transformation by resetting any transformation done to the object to 0, 0, 0 for Translate and Rotate, and 1,1,1 for Scale without moving the object’s geometry in global space.
This operation is not supported for octrees and CAD imported with the fast-rendering option.
Translation step: Defines the increments of translation movements. It is expressed in meters. Check the box to activate incremental translation and edit the step size.
Rotation step: Defines the increments of rotation movements. It is expressed in degrees. Check the box to activate incremental rotation and edit the step size.
Scaling step: Defines the increments of scaling operations. It is expressed in magnitudes. Check the box to activate incremental scaling and edit the step size.
In the Manipulator Preferences, you can customize the look of the manipulators.
