Motion paths

The motion path of an object shows the movement of the object's pivot point over the animation range.

Along a motion path, each frame is, by default, represented by a white dot and each keyframe by a blue dot. The motion path of a static object consists of a single dot.

To show or hide the motion path of a single object:

  • Select the object in the Object List.
  • Open the Object Inspector > Motion Path tab.
  • Toggle the Visible checkbox.

The paths are not automatically updated when you edit your keyframes. Press Refresh if necessary.

Alternatively, press Motion Path > Show & refresh all to show all motion paths in the scene. To re-compute all visible motion paths after any adjustment to your animation, press Motion Path > Refresh all.
