Why Combine NUBIGON and Enscape Animations?
Enscape is excellent for visualizing Revit models—whether for design proposals or as-built documentation. Yet these models often lack their real-world context, such as surrounding site conditions or, in scan-to-BIM workflows, the original reality-capture data.
NUBIGON fills this gap by rendering point clouds alongside the model, helping teams clearly convey the existing environment.
By combining animations from both platforms, you can create a seamless visual story that connects reality capture, modeling, and design.
How to Combine NUBIGON and Enscape Animations
To synchronize Enscape and NUBIGON later, make sure to follow these steps carefully. Synchronization works only on keyframes, not on the frames in between.
In Enscape
Create Camera Animation
- Open the Video Editor and add at least three keyframes:
- A start keyframe
- One or more transition keyframes (used later to switch between NUBIGON and Enscape footage)
- An end keyframe
- Make sure timestamps are checked for all transition and end keyframes.
- Take note of the field of view (FOV).
Configure Export Settings
- Choose and note the resolution.
- Choose and note of the frame rate.
Save the Camera Path
- Click the hamburger menu next to the Video Editor.
- Select Save path to file — this exports an XML file storing the camera path.
In NUBIGON
Prepare Your Scene
- Open your RCP or RCS point cloud file.
- Import the linked Revit (RVT) model.
- Import the Enscape Camera Path:
- Go to File > Import > Enscape Camera Path.
- Browse to the XML file you saved earlier.
- Ensure the correct Revit model is selected in the drop-down menu.
- Ensure that the resolution and the FOV are correct.
- Click OK. This creates a camera object in your Object List.
Preview & Render the Camera Animation
- Select the imported camera in the Object List.
- Click Look through selected
on the toolbar to view the scene through this camera.
- In the animation window:
- Ensure that the FPS matches your Enscape video.
- Adjust the timeline range to match the Enscape video's duration.
- Click Export. In the Render Video window, set the same resolution as your Enscape video, then click Render.
The NUBIGON and Enscape camera paths will align perfectly on keyframes, but not on the frames in between.
In Your Video Editing Software
- Import both rendered videos (from Enscape and NUBIGON).
- Use the shared transition keyframes as synchronization points.
- Add a crossfade, swipe, or other transition effect to switch between the two visualizations — either from real (NUBIGON) to proposed (Enscape), or vice versa.
